There are 4 different cd-roms in this series:
CD1 is Reading with Phonics for ages 5 to 9
CD2 is Sound Blending for ages 6 to 11
CD3 is Spelling for ages 7 to 14
CD4 is Grammar for ages 8 to 15

Phonics Alive! 1.1 is being widely used in Preschools and Primary schools and Intensive English Centers around Australia.
It teaches young children to read, helps ESL students to understand and pronounce letters and phonic awareness and can assist older students with reading difficulties.
The lessons and exercises are self-paced and students can work independently through the lessons, if required.
A 110 page teaching guide including lower case keyboard stickers, 69 flashcards and blackline masters which can be copied and used in the classroom are included with School Versions, Lab Packs and Site Licences. A wonderful resource for all teachers!
Lowercase keyboard stickers are included to help young students and ESL students easily navigate their computer keyboard. Extra packs are available.

CD2 is Sound Blending for ages 6 to 11
Phonics Alive! 2 The Sound Blender is an innovative Australian made program teaching students the essential skills and phonological knowledge of sound blending.
All forms of digraphs, diphthongs, silent letters and suffixes are explored and explained. The Sound Blender introduces and consolidates advanced decoding skills to assist students to recognise and decode previously unknown words.
It consists of 12 self-paced and interactive modules. Each module contains an introduction, rhyming exercises, blending exercises and a keyboard exercise to enable students to develop a fast paced blending process.
If you would like to teach a young child to read, are learning English as a Second Language or have an older student with reading difficulties, this program is highly recommended.
This program is being widely used around Australia in Primary schools and Intensive English Centers and in Secondary schools for remedial literacy with older students.

CD3 is Spelling for ages 7 to 14
Phonics Alive! 3 The Speller teaches students to plan how to spell new and unfamiliar words.
Students will advance their understanding of the grapho-phonic nature of our language and of the complicated alphabetic mapping system of English.
Spelling rules are taught systematically and sight words are practised. Traditional Spelling Rules are explained and actively taught, followed by practice activities. Sight Words are taught and practice games ensure that learning is fun. To best suit individual needs, students are able to choose from a variety of sight words (general lists, community signs, science words, mathematics words, secondary words or compound words).
The program is set in the cavern of a medieval castle. Esmeralda, together with her faithful raven and the gargoyle letters, offer on-screen help throughout the program.

CD4 is Grammar for ages 8 to 15
Come on-board Spacestation Grammatica! By helping the various departments of the Grammatica, students are introduced to the basic rules and conventions that provide the grammatical structure of the English language.
The program has 14 modules. By progressing through these modules, students learn about basic sentence structure, word classes, punctuation and homophones. Students are introduced to subjects and predicates, nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, articles and conjunctions.
The modules actively teach the grammar rules for countable and uncountable nouns, plus the importance of agreement between nouns, pronouns and verbs. Students are introduced to verb number, tense and object. They will enjoy learning about possessive case nouns and pronouns.
Punctuation is actively taught and reinforced. Students learn to correctly use full stops, capital letters, commas, and how to punctuate contractions. Captain Phraser and the crew of the Spacestation Grammatica make learning grammar fun. The modules are packed with stimulating graphics and humorous animation from amorous plants to four armed green window cleaners.
