Disney’s The Book of Pooh A Story without a Tail
As the play on words in the title suggests, A Story Without A Tail is a tale about a lost tail. Children ages three to six can accompany Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Woods as they go on an adventurous journey to find Eeyore's misplaced tail, & find the true meaning of friendship on the way.
Characters come alive with familiar art and puppet movements as kids learn how to help a friend in need through challenging activities structured with a goal and reward system.
The story fosters an elementary approach to literacy with an emphasis on emotional, social, and cognitive skills. Children interact with Piglet and Eeyore to create a story, rhyme words with Kessie, learn the alphabet with Tigger and Piglet, explore a stream with Pooh, and follow recipe directions with Owl and Rabbit.
As with most Playhouse Disney products, the game focuses on early learning skills in an environment familiar and comfortable to kids. "Bounce with Tigger" focuses on letters and working together, "Pooh's Alphabet Stream" deals with letter and object association through repetition and context, "Rabbit's Kitchen" centres on creative and artistic development, and "Sing a Song with Kessie" encourages sound awareness, rhyming, social skills, self expression, and emotional development. Finally, "Piglet's Short Stories" ties together story elements and the association of written and spoken words.
